is a massal selection of Pinot Noir from Alsace, which we planted
on a parcel, “Piancabella”, at an altitude of 480 meters: a very steep southeast-facing, overlooking the lake. It is our first vineyard trained with the
Guyot system, with a density of over 7000 plants per hectare.
The grapes harvested at the end of August at full ripness, were placed
whole in a truncated French oak conical vat. After about 10 days of
carbonic maceration, the grapes are punched down and allowed to
ferment in contact with their skins for about three weeks. The resulting
wine is transferred into 5 hl barrels where it matures for about 2 years, and
then refined for at least 3 years in bottle before being released for sale.
